How much does a session cost ?

Our fee 2024 is £5 per child or special needs adult . Accompanying adults/guardians are not charged.

What about Parking ?

Visitor are requested to park on the main road near 178 Old Hale Way and walk down the end of the track

Is my booking refundable ?

The BuzzWorks fee is refundable in case BuzzWorks cancels a session. If a booking is cancelled by the visiting party the fee is not refundable but can be used to book another available session in the same year.

Can we buy your honey ?

Please feel free to bring along cash to purchase a jar of our delicious local honey. (currently £7 a jar)

How many adults can accompany the group ?

We would like to know your usual ratio, and would normally expect at least 2 for a class of 30.

What about Health and Safety ?

We have a functioning apiary on site, there are nets and screens in place. There is a first aid kit on site. Volunteers are aware of protocol and procedure. Our Health & Safety policy documents are available on request

Can a representative visit your site prior to a scheduled visit ?

Yes, we offer Wednesdays 1-3pm. from April onwards. Other times by arrangement.

How many visitors can there be at the session?

There can be 10 - 30 visitors not including accompanying teachers, leaders, parents and guardians.

What is our group is smaller than 30 ?

Home Education groups are invited to give a range of dates before booking so that we can team you up with other home Ed groups in the area. Other smaller groups may also be considered.

Can I request times outside the sessions advertised?

Yes, we can provide a session for the morning or afternoon, from the beginning of May to the end of September. Additional evening sessions are held in June, July and August.

Are your sessions suitable as a Birthday party activity?

Yes, we can do standard lessons if your celebration has an informative vibe. We can also make the session an occasion for more fun and games, with bees and flowers as a theme.

What is the advice on clothing and footwear ?

We have woodchip paths, so closed toed sandals and flat/lower heeled shoes are advised. In hot weather sun hats are advised as most of the session is held outside.

Do we need to inform you about allergies?

It is best to make us aware of any allergies before your visit

How many volunteers run the sessions?

We will have between 3 and 6 volunteers per visit depending on availability.

Do visitors take anything home?

During the lessons wax and seed samples are given. Smaller honey jars and other items can be quoted for as part of a goody bag.

Are there toilet facilities on site?

We have a composting toilet, that is cleaned before and after each visit, hand towel and wipes are provided.

Is food and drink included ?

The site has several taps providing cold mains tap water. Visitors are welcome to enjoy their own packed lunches for up to 40 minutes after their sessions in the morning and afternoon. More time may be agreed if you booking is for a birthday or special event.

Is there any financial help towards our visit?

We may have grant funding that could help towards your booking fee and travel, please enquire if this is relevant to your group.

Can I talk to a BuzzWorks Education volunteer?

Absolutely. You can request this at the time of booking leave your telephone number and preferred times to call, or your email if you prefer in the additional detail box when booking Should you wish to contact us prior to booking please email buzzworksedu@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 48 hours.

Are photos/videos taken of the children ?

We have consent forms on site if visitors agree to have their images taken for the use of BuzzWorks promotion only. Otherwise, there will no recording of your session other than those taken by visitors for their own private use.
